Active in graphic and photography since the early years of
college, Corrado Uccello began working on digital photo
manipulation in 2008, initially representing “unlikely
realities”, that is “imagining to open a window on a
parallel world, where the rules as we know are totally
subverted”.
At first he used the graphic and narrative tecnique close to
the comics and advertising world, often drawing on images
from the Internet.
Thereafter he has undertaken various projects especially
oriented to reality alteration, to completely change the
meaning of the images, providing alternative interpretations
and often antonymous. His goal is to find in our
surroundings “a different order”.
He realizes images that bring to certain uneasiness that
involve and displace the viewer. Away from using metaphors,
Corrado Uccello is for a direct photography, sometimes
brutal in meaning. Wise and accurate photographic
compositions that the artist defines "real counterfeits".
This feature is particularly emblematic in the project "In
the Void", where he works on images strongly real, to obtain
that degree of tension necessary to make the figures falling
from the indefinite movement, as if to freeze the instant of
the fall and cause a surge of empathy in the viewer.
He currently is focused on exploration of the fears and
collective phobias, on reflection about the difficult task
of getting used to the fear itself, to become (perhaps)
immune too.
